How is sexology reimbursed?...

Since January 1, 2014, some health insurers do not cover sexual care anymore. Even though sexual care falls under the Care Insurance Act, which means that any Dutch citizen is entitled to it, in most cases you will have to pay for it yourself*. The Hilversum Medical Sexology Practice charges EUR 80 per session (of 1 hour). Invoices for the sessions are sent by FAMED. As sexual care still falls under the Health Insurance Act and you are therefore entitled to it, we do recommend you get in touch with your health insurer to ask about reimbursements.

*In some cases sexual care is reimbursed if you have supplementary insurance. This is the case for the following insurance companies: VGZ (Univé, IZA, Aevitae, IZZ, Iak, Nedasco, SIZ, VPZ, Turien&Co and UMC). The reimbursement amounts to EUR 60 per session, with a maximum of 4 sessions per calendar year.
